Who I Work With

One trainer, a decade of range, three kinds of transformation.

Over a decade coaching athletes, adults, and seniors means every program is built from scratch around the person in front of me — their goals, their space, and their health. The precision it takes to safely train a 78-year-old is the same precision that develops a young athlete.

My Specialty

Seniors & Medical-Aware

The strength to stay independent — and the balance to prevent the fall that changes everything. Expert, safe training for older adults, and for anyone working around a cardiac, post-rehab, neurological, or chronic condition. Physician-clearance aware, safety first.

Adults & Professionals

Weight loss, muscle, and real energy for busy people — fit into your living room, on your schedule. Over a decade refining what actually works for real, busy lives: strength, conditioning, and nutrition guidance that sticks.

Student Athletes

Sport-specific strength, speed, and agility for ages 10–21 — taught with the right form from day one. A decade developing young athletes, from first-timers to college-bound competitors, for the season and the long game.

The Forged Method

A system, not a guess.

Most trainers wing it. I run every client — from a 16-year-old athlete to an 82-year-old rebuilding balance — through the same three-phase system that makes progress measurable.

01

Assess

A real evaluation of your strength, mobility, balance, and medical picture — with measured baselines so we know exactly where you stand and what's safe.

02

Build

A custom program built around those numbers, your goals, your equipment, and your space — progressed week over week so it never gets stale or unsafe.

03

Reassess

We re-test on a schedule. You see the improvement in hard numbers — grip, balance time, strength — not vibes. That's how independence and confidence get built.

The same method I use inside Wingate Needham and Wingate Way East — now brought into your home.

Founder · Matt Doherty
Meet Matt

A trainer who chose the hard clients — and got great at them.

I'm Matt Doherty, founder of Forged Home Fitness. Exercise-science degree, four-year Division III college tennis captain, and a certified strength and senior-fitness specialist. I spent years inside senior-living communities and found that the clients everyone else called "too complicated" were exactly the ones I was built to help.

Now I bring that same standard of care into your home — whether you're an athlete chasing a season, a professional reclaiming your energy, or an 80-year-old rebuilding the strength to stay independent.

Credentials & Safety

Built for the clients other trainers won't take.

  • Certified specialist. CFSC, CTPS, Certified Senior Fitness, CPR/AED, and a B.S. in Exercise Science — I program around conditions, not around them.
  • Physician-clearance aware. For clients with cardiac or complex conditions, I coordinate with your doctor's parameters before we start.
  • Fully insured, with a certificate of insurance on file for every facility and client.
  • HSA/FSA may be eligible. With a Letter of Medical Necessity, many clients can use pre-tax dollars — ask how.
