Your Winchester Personal Trainer

Forged Home Fitness already trains clients in Winchester every week. Matt Doherty comes to your home with a plan written for your body, your goals and your schedule, and coaches every rep himself. Sessions happen in your basement, garage, spare room or home gym, whatever space you have.

Winchester runs on tight calendars: early trains out of Wedgemere and Winchester Center, school pickups, practices, and work that doesn't stop at five. In-home training removes the drive, the parking and the wait for equipment. A 60-minute session costs you 60 minutes, not two hours.

Training Services Available in Winchester

Private 1-on-1 Training

Fully coached strength training built around what you want: more muscle, less back pain, better energy, or simply being strong enough to do everything you enjoy. Every session includes a warm-up, the main work, and progressions written down so you can see your numbers move.

Couples and Small Group Training

Train with your spouse, partner or a neighbor in the same hour. Before pairing anyone, Matt evaluates each person separately so the program fits both of you, including old injuries and different starting points. One coach, one session, two programs.

Senior Fitness

Strength, balance and fall-prevention training for adults 60 and over, coached at a pace that respects joint replacements, osteoporosis, arthritis and the instructions your doctor or therapist has given you. Sessions run 30 or 60 minutes.

Student Athlete Development

Sport-specific strength, speed and injury-resilience training for middle and high school athletes, coached at home around practice and game schedules. The focus is moving well first, then getting strong and fast.

Meet Your Trainer: Matt Doherty, CFSC Level 2

Matt is the owner and the coach. He holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from Endicott College, is a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC Level 2) through Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning, a Certified Senior Fitness Specialist, and a Certified Tennis Performance Specialist. He has spent over a decade coaching student athletes, busy adults and older adults.

You won't be handed off to a rotating trainer. The person who evaluates you is the person who coaches you every week.

Serving All of Winchester

Matt trains clients across Winchester, including Wedgemere, Winchester Center, the Highlands, Myopia Hill and the West Side near the Mystic Lakes. Early-morning, midday and evening times are available, and nearby towns like Lexington, Arlington and Woburn can often be scheduled on the same route.

Frequently Asked Questions: Winchester Training

How much does in-home personal training cost in Winchester?

Private 60-minute sessions are $150. Couples and small group sessions and 30-minute senior sessions are also available. The first visit, a full evaluation in your home, is free with no commitment.

Do I need my own equipment?

No. Matt brings portable equipment to every session. If you already have a home gym, a Tonal, a Peloton or a set of dumbbells, he'll build the program around it so you get more out of what you own.

What happens at the free evaluation?

Matt comes to your Winchester home, talks through your goals, training history and any injuries or medical considerations, looks at how you move, and checks your space. You leave with a clear plan and a recommended schedule. No pressure and no sales pitch.

I have back pain or an old injury. Can I still train?

Most people can, and many clients start for exactly that reason. Training is adjusted around your history, and anything your doctor or physical therapist has asked you to avoid stays off the program. Matt is a strength coach, not a clinician, so he works alongside your medical team rather than replacing it.

What's the cancellation policy?

24 hours' notice. Most clients train one to three times per week on a standing schedule.
